We offer the following services on the Trent-Severn Waterway and for private ponds and lakes:

Aquatic Weed Harvesting

Aquatic weed harvesting

We provide mechanical removal of floating and submerged lake vegetation with an aquatic weed harvester to a maximum depth of five foot below the waterline.

For aquatic weed harvesting, you need a permit. See Operating Conditions.

Please be early in the season with the application. Cutting season starts in July.

Barge Transport

Barge Transport

You need to transport equipment or construction materials via waterway? We can help. Our motorized barge can carry weights up to 13.200 pounds (about 6 metric tons). The size of the loading platform is 8' x 24' (2.4m x 7.3m).

Operating Conditions

Since the Trent-Severn Waterway is a national historic site, all operations that change something about the waterway (e.g. weed harvesting) need a Parks Canada permit. For detailed information, visit the official Parks Canada policies page.

The legal process works as follows:

  1. The Parks Canada IN-WATER AND SHORELINE WORKS PERMIT form has to be filled in and submitted to:

    Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site
    P.O. Box 567
    Peterborough, Ontario
    Canada K9J 6Z6

    Tel: 705-750-4900
    Email: ont.trentservern@pc.gc.ca

  2. A permit fee has to be paid to Receiver General of Canada.
  3. After the approval you will receive this permit and then we can start with our services according to permit conditions.
